PGY-1: Fundamental Clinical Skills of Medicine.
During the PGY-1 year, our residents gain a solid clinical foundation in the Department of Internal Medicine while also benefiting from a total of 14 weeks of rotations in the Department of Anesthesiology. This combined with an anesthesia-specific educational series prepares PGY-1 residents extremely well for the transition to CA-1 year.
The members of the PGY-1 class select an Anesthesiology faculty mentor, are assigned a senior resident “buddy”, and are invited to all departmental social functions so they really feel like a member of the team from day one.
