Vincent Tang, D.O.
Chief Resident, 2025-2026
Fun Fact: I can count to 10 in seven different languages.
What do you love most about our residency: As cliché as it may sound, what I love most is the people—the attendings, staff, techs and especially my co-residents. The camaraderie and support truly make this experience memorable and rewarding. In addition, the breadth of complex cases and exposure to medically challenging patients provide exceptional clinical training to be a well-rounded anesthesiologist. Coupled with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, it's a place where I genuinely enjoy learning and growing every day.
What do you do for fun? : I enjoy running, seeing live theater and exploring different cuisines.
Cordell Spellman, M.D.
Chief Resident, 2025-2026
Fun Fact: I played tenor drums on the Green Bay Packers’ drum line during my two gap years.
What do you love most about our residency: Being a transplant center and the only Level 1 trauma center for the greater Hudson Valley area means that from early on in training we see many complex and high acuity cases. The clinical experience is second to none in the state and residents graduate feeling prepared for any situation. We also are afforded very reasonable work hours which allows us to take full advantage of the unique location. In an hour north of the hospital I could be on a hiking trail or ski lift, and an hour south in New York City. Lastly, being from Wisconsin I was relieved to find a welcoming culture and strong resident camaraderie where I can confidently say I’ve made new life-long friends.
What do you do for fun? : I enjoy getting outside for hiking, all versions of skiing (downhill, cross country, water), and recently, pickleball. I also love card/board games, a good brewery, and making homemade cocktails.
