Bianca-Nandini Jambhekar, MD, MPH
Chief Resident, 2024-2025
Fun Fact: My mom works in pharma and worked on many of the anesthetic drugs we use today. As a kid, I ran around in T-shirts advertising Propofol and Sevoflurane.
What do you love most about our residency: I think our exposure to challenging cases and medically complex patients is incredible! We get to learn how to manage patients along with very supportive and knowledgeable attendings. The group of people at WMC are amazing, and that's true for the residents, our techs and everyone who works in the OR! We learn a lot while still being able to maintain work life balance.
What do you do for fun? : I enjoy traveling (heading to London in the spring), exploring restaurants, baking, and interior decorating!
Darrel Brennen, MBBS
Chief Resident, 2024-2025
Fun Fact: I currently play three musical instruments: Classical Piano (Grade 8 Trinity College of Music, London), Trumpet and Tenor Saxophone.
What do you love most about our residency: The complexity of the cases that we see at WMC is phenomenal. In the beginning, it seems like a daunting task to manage the sickest patients, however, it prepares us for any anesthetic one can imagine. My favorite types of cases include Trauma, Complex Vascular and Neuro-anesthesia as nothing compares to a beautifully executed TIVA/ Remifentanil emergence.
What do you do for fun? : I recently started playing recreational sports again, including softball, Flag Football and the occasional golf outing. I also enjoy exploring NYC and discovering new restaurants. I am definitely a foodie at heart!
